Gillian Hebert

Secretary & Youth Advisor
From my earliest memories, the desire to pursue art in some capacity has been an unwavering beacon in my life. Drawing served as my sanctuary, allowing me to navigate a world that often felt bewildering, and through creating comics, I found an engaging avenue to articulate myself when words fell short. The profound impact of Nick’s Place For Us has magnified the realization of my aspirations as an artist far beyond what I could have envisioned. This transformative journey has not only brought my dream of being an artist closer to reality but has now opened doors for me to embark on the next phase of my career journey—teaching watercolour classes to youth.
To be an artist isn’t solely about freedom of expression; it’s a deeply enriching and rewarding endeavor. It encompasses a sense of fulfillment that arises from imparting knowledge, guiding aspiring artists, and witnessing the sparks of creativity ignite in young minds.
