Gateway To the Arts Gallery

A Community of Creativity, Support and Growth

Gateway & Nick’s Place is a dynamic hub where creativity and community come together to inspire, uplift, and empower. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves a space to grow, express, and belong, we provide a welcoming environment for artists and youth alike. Through mentorship, collaboration, and artistic exploration, we foster personal development, resilience, and meaningful connections.

Co-founded by Karrie Emms and Dani Lynn Redgrift-Berthelot, Gateway & Nick’s Place is located inside Northgate Shopping Centre in North Bay, Ontario. Spanning 1,350 sq. ft., our space features avibrant gallery, Nick’s Place —a safe and inclusive youth space—and is the home of art classes, creative sessions, day camps, and leadership opportunities. With the generosity of our community and a determination to create opportunities despite financial constraints, we have built a place where creativity fuels connection and positive change.

Beyond our walls, our impact extends into the community. We host markets, Art Battles, and events that bring people together, celebrating artistry, leadership, and collaboration. Even in the face of challenges, including a global pandemic, we remained a beacon of support, using art as a tool for healing, outreach, and engagement. From painting donation bins to providing creative kits for families in need, we believe in the power of service through creativity.

Proceeds from our art sales directly support nonprofit youth programming, ensuring that every young person—regardless of background—has access to mentorship, artistic expression, and a sense of belonging. Whether through public art events, cultural celebrations, or everyday connections, Gateway & Nick’s Place continues to be a place where creativity, support, and opportunity thrive.Join us in shaping a future where no child is left behind, and every voice finds a place to be heard.
